Pet Bereavement
The loss of a pet can be one of the most significant losses we experience. From the events leading to their departure including illness, accident, debilitation, and other circumstances… to the grief, feelings of emptiness and loneliness that follow their departure. This can be heart breaking and traumatic to loving pet parents.
Our four-legged companions truly leave paw prints on our hearts. The connection to our beloved pets is so pure, sacred and unlike any other. They depend on us from the time we bring them home to the moment they take their last breath, our forever fur babies who love and trust us unconditionally.
We experience a host of emotions when we lose a pet, similar to the loss of a cherished human. Afterall, they are family. It’s important to have compassionate support as we do the inner-work necessary to heal from such a loss. Our dear pets don’t want us to remain stuck in the grief of their loss any more than we do.
I’ve worked with many clients to move through their grief following pet loss. Together we can release held emotions, repattern subconscious beliefs, and heal your heartbreak so you can emerge more peaceful, balanced, and whole following this significant the life change.

Compassion Stress Management for Animal Caregivers
Animal caregivers within veterinary services, pallative and hospice care, animal rescue and shelter, and more have a unique and challenging role. They serve our furry friends, their families, and the community, which can be especially demanding. While their love for animals brought them into their sacred service, it can wear on their hearts resulting in compassion fatigue and burnout.
I offer progressive workshops to counterbalance the intensity of this work resulting in increased professional fulfillment and longevity. This can be done in a short presentation, a half-day, or full-day workshop for animal caregiving organizations who understand that caring for their staff results in better services for the animals and their families.
“Suzie was fantastic and helped our staff tremendously with our compassion fatigue issues. Her presentation provided us numerous ways to address our problems and reduce stress levels. The meditation she led at the end of the workshop was fantastic. I highly recommend her for any organization who may have trouble with compassion fatigue in their workplace.”
– Mark Eby, Former President/CEO, Kansas Humane Society
